Every year, J.B. Hunt drivers play a big role in enriching their communities by nominating classrooms for J.B. Hunt’s Adopt-a-Class program. This year, we are proud to share the success of this program and some stories from the communities who received classroom donations delivered by our drivers!
What is Adopt-a-Class?
J.B. Hunt’s Adopt-a-Class program lets our drivers give back to their communities by nominating their child’s or grandchild’s classroom for school supply donations. This year, we donated $35,000 in school supplies to 35 classrooms throughout the country.
Thanks to our drivers, our Adopt-a-Class program has facilitated $273,250 in donations to 290 classrooms since the start of the program in 2013.
J.B. Hunt Drivers Deliver
Tommy, a J.B. Hunt Intermodal driver, nominated his daughter’s classroom this year and was able to deliver the supplies himself and meet her teacher, Ms. Mondy.
“As a dad, I felt pretty lucky,” said Tommy. “For me, meeting Ms. Mondy and providing for a class is … I feel pretty good about it. I feel like supporting my community through this education program is a good thing to do. I mean, always support your community.”
For Ms. Mondy, the care and support from her student’s family and local community means a lot to her and her classroom.
“It means a lot having the support of a local company to be able to support our classroom,” she said. “There are a lot of great partnerships in this community, and it’s really great that we get to partner with such a great company like J.B. Hunt.”
