Transferable Military Driving Experience

We understand that military driving experience is invaluable and can easily translate to experience driving a Class A vehicle. If military members have a Certificate of Release within the last two years that contains a Military Occupational Specialty code of 88M, 3531, 2TX1 or EO or have received a Commander’s Waiver, they may be eligible for 100% of time served to count toward Class A driving experience. Apprenticeship Program for Inexperienced Drivers

J.B. Hunt has opportunities for new CDL-A graduates to receive paid on-the-job training and experience through our Apprenticeship Program. Drivers in this program train with a certified driver trainer before transitioning to a full-time position within our Dedicated Contract Services®, Intermodal or Final Mile Services® business units upon successful completion. Our Dedicated Contract Services accounts each serve a single customer, allowing drivers access to familiar routes, customers and work duties. We operate more than 13,000 trucks in over 600 account locations, making J.B. Hunt the largest dedicated provider in the United States.

J.B. Hunt’s Dedicated Contract Services business unit offers drivers a unique experience because they can do more than just drive. Depending on the account, dedicated drivers perform duties like operating forklifts and pallet jacks to complete deliveries. Additionally, driving dedicated offers a variety of equipment including flatbed, temperature-controlled, doubles and traditional van trailers.

Our Intermodal business unit offers more traditional driving duties - drivers transport freight containers from rail yards to customer locations. As the industry leader in intermodal, J.B. Hunt drivers reap the rewards of a growing intermodal market and our longstanding relationships with major rail providers.

Our intermodal equipment is 100 percent company-owned and maintained, including more than 116,000 containers and 100,700 chassis, as well as private speed gates at a number of facilities for efficient service. Intermodal driving jobs operate 24/7 leaving drivers with the freedom and power to choose a schedule that works for them. The consistency in freight and familiar routes allow drivers to get the most out of their workday.

Our most active and customer-facing business unit is Final Mile Services. Drivers begin each day at the J.B. Hunt office where they receive an assignment from their manager. Once the delivery truck is loaded, drivers head out and make deliveries to customer locations.

Because deliveries usually take place during business hours, most Final Mile Services employees enjoy a Monday - Friday schedule with weekend time off. No CDL? No problem. We have both CDL-A and non-CDL driving opportunities available within this business unit.
