Jalen, a regional intermodal driver, has been with J.B. Hunt for almost five years. In his time here, he has been a great representation of our values: integrity, respect, innovation, safety and excellence. And he had an opportunity to step outside of the driver’s seat and put these values into action when he witnessed a motorcycle accident on the road.
Jalen’s safety training and past as a lifeguard allowed him to pull his truck over safely and administer lifesaving first aid until first responders arrived. Jalen’s knowledge and leadership in a time of crisis prevented a tragic outcome and demonstrated a core belief at J.B. Hunt: that people come first. Miranda, Jalen’s operations manager, said that seeing the impact of his actions filled her with pride.
