The short answer is, yes. We do require at least three months of CDL-A experience for our Dedicated Contract Services® (DCS®) and Intermodal business units, and for many of our Final Mile Services® (FMS) driving jobs.

Class A License and Three or More Months of Experience
We require that those interested in our CDL-A driving jobs have a minimum of three months of CDL-A experience after completing CDL school. If you meet this minimum, we have loads of jobs available across the country!

While our minimum hiring requirements are three or more months of driving experience, we do have opportunities for new CDL-A graduates with the J.B. Hunt Apprenticeship Program.

No CDL-A License
No CDL-A? No problem. Drivers in our FMS business unit can begin their driving careers without a Class A license as a Delivery Installation Specialist (DIS).

License Other Than Class A
If you have a Class B, C, or any other class of license, you can be eligible for our CDL-A jobs when you upgrade your license to Class A and gain three or more months of experience or enter into our Apprenticeship Program!
If you do not wish to upgrade your license, then you could find your perfect driving career with our non-CDL driving jobs.
