Driver orientation is our first opportunity to welcome you to J.B. Hunt! We created an orientation process with drivers in mind, so it is efficient, enjoyable and gets you behind the wheel sooner.

Online Orientation

First-of-its-kind in our industry, our Direct to Work online orientation program, allows you to complete orientation online from the comfort of your home, saving you time and travel. Schedule screenings to fit your schedule at a location near you. Drivers will be paid upon completion of the program.

Documents Needed for Company Drivers

  • Valid Class A or B license or valid license from your state of residence
    Current DOT medical card, must be valid 60 days post-hire
    • If you do not have a current certification or your card has less than 60 days remaining, J.B. Hunt will send you to our clinic for a new one
  • Social Security numbers and birth dates for dependents to be covered by benefit offerings
  • Voided check or bank-authorized documents containing bank routing and account numbers for direct-deposit payroll
  • Funds to cover personal expenses while attending training and until first payroll
  • Proper footwear and attire for your road test
  • Two forms of identification as required by the I-9 form

Compensation and Paperwork

Employee drivers are compensated upon completion of orientation or on your first week's payroll. Pay varies by orientation type. To assist you in making it through to your first settlement, the orientation instructor can issue a one-time advance, for no charge, at the completion of orientation. You will complete all necessary paperwork and receive instructions on company policies, safety standards, and general company information.
