Does J.B. Hunt have an Apprenticeship Program?

J.B. Hunt now provides truck driver training through our Apprenticeship Program! Drivers who have attended a 120-hour CDL-A school within the past 12 months are eligible for consideration.

Drivers hired into this program train alongside a J.B. Hunt driver trainer for six weeks, learning about our safety culture, how to run their lanes and more.

What type of driving jobs are available in the Apprenticeship Program?

Drivers will train on a local or regional account in our Dedicated Contract Services®, Intermodal or Final Mile Services® divisions.

What happens after I complete the program?

Upon successful completion of their training, drivers have an opportunity to transition to a full-time position within our Dedicated Contract Services®Intermodal or Final Mile Services® fleets, which offer local and regional routes. Drivers will then receive a pay increase to the standard starting pay for an experienced driver.

What kind of benefits will I have during training?

From day one, drivers in our Apprenticeship Program are considered full-time J.B. Hunt employee drivers, which means they will have access to a variety of competitive benefit options.

This includes:

  • Benefits eligibility after just 30 days
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off
  • And so much more
