J.B. Hunt inducted into CSCMP Hall of Fame

This past September, we were excited to have our founder Johnnie Bryan (J.B.) Hunt inducted into the inaugural class of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) Hall of Fame. He was inducted alongside Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company, and Malcom McLean, inventor of the shipping container. His wife Johnelle Hunt proudly accepted the award on her husband’s behalf during the CSCMP’s global conference in Orlando.

The Supply Chain Hall of Fame pays tribute to those who have made revolutionary contributions to the supply chain industry. Mr. Hunt was selected because of his role in pioneering intermodal transportation.

As one of the first trucking companies to move loads by rail, J.B. Hunt Transport’s relationship with the former Santa Fe Railway charted a new course for Intermodal. Since 1989, the company has grown from a small Intermodal operation with a few hundred containers, to owning the largest fleet of 53-foot containers in the world.
