Does J.B. Hunt Train?

How to obtain your CDL-A license.

Many newcomers in the trucking industry are in search of training and on-the-road experience. While J.B. Hunt does not have a school to provide training, we do have non-CDL driving jobs in our Final Mile Services® (FMS) division and a refresher program available to CDL-A drivers with past experience.

Refresher Program

For CDL-A drivers looking to return to the trucking industry, we have a refresher program available in select locations. Drivers must have a minimum of 6 months of CDL-A tractor trailer experience in the last 5 years OR 2 years of experience outside of 5 years, but within 10 years. During the program, drivers will participate in their scheduled week-long orientation as well as two additional days of extensive training.

Non-CDL Driving Jobs

We also have non-CDL driving jobs available in our FMS division. Drivers operate a box truck and make deliveries of home appliances, exercise equipment and more to customer locations. No CDL-A required.

After CDL School

There are a variety of CDL-A schools across the country and many resources available to help find a school close to home. Once graduates have at least 3 months of CDL-A experience, opportunities can become available at J.B. Hunt through our Truckload, Dedicated and Intermodal divisions. Unfortunately, in-school experience does not count toward the 3-month requirement.
