J.B. Hunt’s Million Mile Celebration is one of the biggest truck driver appreciation events in our industry, partly because our drivers continue to break records and surpass our own safety milestones. Our million-mile safe drivers are the superstars of our company, and we couldn’t be prouder to roll out the red carpet for this once-a-year event.

The celebration we throw for the exceptional drivers who have reached two, three, four and five million safe miles is the event we have looked forward to every year since the first celebration 30 years ago.

What is the Million Mile Celebration?

For 30 years, J.B. Hunt has celebrated million-mile drivers with special awards and appreciation, starting the first program of its kind in the trucking industry. Today, our Million Mile Celebration is the biggest event we host out of the year and is the foundation of our culture of safety and truck driver appreciation.

Each year, we invite every J.B. Hunt driver who reached two million or more safe miles during the previous year to attend a three-day celebration at our corporate headquarters in Lowell, Ark. Drivers and their families are treated to a dinner celebration and awards luncheon, and are able to speak with company leadership and receive personal thanks for their work. It takes 10 years on average for a driver to reach one million safe miles, which makes this group of drivers truly exceptional.

But the highlight of the celebration is the Walk of Fame. For the Walk of Fame, drivers walk through the halls of our corporate offices, lined with people cheering them on and chanting their names, and get to see a part of the impact their accomplishments have had on the entire company.

Million Mile Safe Driving Award

The milestones our million-mile drivers have reached represent decades of driving without a preventable accident, putting these drivers among the safest in the industry. And a huge part of the recognition these drivers receive is the bonus they get for each new milestone they surpass. Combined, these bonuses can equal up to $125,000 for each million-mile driver throughout their career.  

• One-million-mile drivers receive a bonus of $5,000
• Two-million-mile drivers receive a bonus of $10,000
• Three-million-mile drivers receive a bonus of $20,000
• Four-million-mile drivers receive a bonus of $40,000
• Five-million-mile drivers receive a bonus of $50,000

This year, we honored 54 drivers who reached two million or more miles. These are exceptional drivers, and we are committed to recognizing their work in a way that both shapes our culture and rewards their achievements.
