Career Path

We accomplish this by moving drivers into roles that better fit their skillsets or schedule needs through our Driver Transfer Portal or by moving them into driver trainer, safety or non-driver roles. When you join the J.B. Hunt team, you’re joining an entire network of people dedicated to your progress.

From a dedicated group of onsite driver managers to celebration teams ensuring our drivers feel appreciated through events and recognition, the various levels of support our drivers have set them up for success. We strive to ensure that our drivers feel welcome and connected by cultivating a team environment and through programs like our employee resource groups (ERGs), training and continued education.

We have six ERGs that help drivers and non-driver employees connect with people who have similar interests and backgrounds, make an impact in the community, as well as introduce them to coworkers they may not meet in their day-to-day routine. A Culture of Safety

In the transportation industry, safety is everything. From equipping our trucks with the latest tools and technology to rewarding drivers who go above and beyond, safety is ingrained in J.B. Hunt’s culture. For each year of safe driving, we send truck drivers rewards and recognition for their efforts. Our largest safety celebration is our Million Mile event. 

Those who have driven one million safe miles are awarded at the account level, but when drivers reach two million safe miles and up, we go all out at our corporate campus in Lowell, AR for our drivers and their families. Million Mile drivers are showered with gifts and appreciation during the three-day event and receive a bonus for their continued commitment to keeping our roads safe. 

  • One Million Miles – $5,000 Bonus 
  • Two Million Miles – $10,000 Bonus
  • Three Million Miles – $20,000 Bonus
  • Four Million Miles – $40,000 Bonus 
  • Five Million Miles – $50,000 Bonus

Support and Management

As a driver, you are the captain of your ship, but what is a captain without their crew? With onsite management, fellow drivers to help train, local maintenance and safety teams and an open-door policy all the way to the executive level, you can drive knowing you have people you can trust backing you.

J.B. Hunt was founded in 1961 by Johnnie Bryan, a former truck driver, and his wife, Johnelle Hunt. For over six decades, focusing on big ideas and people has kept our company not only surviving but thriving. We recognize how important it is for us to show our drivers that when they drive with us, they can rely on our company as much as we rely on them. We were founded by a driver, so we understand just how crucial our drivers are to our continued growth and success within the industry. A large amount of freight and the equipment, tools and capacity to deliver for our customers keep them coming back for more and keep our drivers moving.

J.B. Hunt Truck Driver Pay

As a J.B. Hunt company driver, you will get your check on the same day, every week, directly to your account through direct deposit. Your money belongs to you, so we offer drivers the visibility to see what they can expect from their upcoming paychecks through our innovative technology. 

We believe drivers need to be able to focus on safety and efficiency, not when their next paycheck is coming, so we are committed to providing that security for our drivers. Along with a consistent paycheck, we are proud to award our drivers with service awards, safety awards and bonuses and celebrations to show our appreciation. 

Driver Appreciation

Our employee drivers keep us moving and growing, and we believe they deserve a company that not only tells them that they are appreciated but shows them. Through programs like Adopt-a-Class, annual service and safety awards, our famous Million Mile celebrations and an entire month of Truck Driver Appreciation events every September, our drivers know their worth.
