Compensation and paperwork:

Company drivers are compensated upon completion of class or on your first week's payroll. Pay varies by location and is determined by each state's minimum hourly wage. You will complete all necessary paperwork and receive instruction on company policies, safety standards and general company information.

Lease purchase drivers are compensated on your first settlement. To assist you in making it through to your first settlement, the orientation instructor can issue a one-time advance, for no charge, at the completion of orientation. You will complete all leasing paperwork, pick out your tractor from our lease-purchase trucks, and receive instruction on policies, communication protocol and safety standards.

Owner operators are compensated on your first week's settlement. To assist you in making it through to your first settlement, the orientation instructor can issue a one-time advance, for no charge, at the completion of orientation. You will complete all paperwork, truck inspection, and receive briefings on policies, communication protocol and safety standards.
Driver orientations take place in a variety of locations country-wide that cater to specific operation groups. This specialized process allows us to provide the best possible experience for you as you begin orientating to J.B. Hunt.

In most locations, we arrange for a cab or a hotel shuttle to drive you from the airport or bus terminal to your lodging. If you coordinate your own travel, go straight to J.B. Hunt's specified hotel and check in. Drivers will meet in the hotel lobby each morning for a shuttle to the J.B. Hunt Service Center.

If you have to pay for your own transportation from the airport or bus terminal to orientation, be sure to obtain a receipt to turn in to the orientation team on day one for reimbursement.

Hotels normally offer a continental breakfast and a lunch will be provided by J.B. Hunt during each day of class. You'll furnish your own evening meals. Hotels are usually double-occupancy but can be upgraded to a private room for a daily fee - $30.00 to $40.00 on average - that you’ll be responsible to pay.
